After the conduct of 10 successful annual basic transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) course, we welcome you to a two day long workshop where apart from basic TTE on healthy volunteers you will also learn TTE on cardiac patients both adult and pediatric by eminent cardiologists as well as point of care ultrasound (POCUS) from distinguished guest faculty.
We all encounter situations where we feel the need to know how is the heart functioning? Is there a need to give volume or add inotropes? Although several devices are available but none are conclusive. TTE is one modality that helps diagnose a cardiac pathology or rule out a cardiac cause for hemodynamic instability. It’s an indispensable tool in today’s time. Whether it is emergency or elective procedure TTE and Point of care ultrasound(POCUS) comes to your rescue.
It’s time we learn from our national esteemed faculty comprising of Cardiologists, Cardiac anesthetists and Intensivists the art of performing transthoracic echocardiography and POCUS. This course provides a unique opportunity to learn if you are novice and clear all your doubts if you are already practicing. There is ample opportunity to interact with the experts during hands on session.
This workshop is unique in that it provides you with the basics of transthoracic echocardiography that is a window to your heart, details of POCUS examination & hemodynamic calculation in both healthy volunteer and patients with cardiac pathology. The highlight of this course is the wholesome approach to understanding ultrasound. It starts with the basic principles, different types of probes, optimizing the image, learning artifacts and pitfalls, acquisition of different views and its interpretation. Anatomical correlation during the porcine heart dissection helps you understand how the heart is viewed in different planes. This would be followed by hands on session where you can apply all the knowledge learnt on the volunteers to acquire skill of obtaining optimized views in healthy volunteers. There will be live demonstration by the cardiologists on adult and pediatric patients. This will help you correlate the difference between normal hearts of volunteers and hearts with pathology in cardiac patients. Learn from the cardiologist on when to call the experts.
Notable features include a special lecture on fluid responsiveness-latest updates, sessions on point of care ultrasound (POCUS) that is inclusive of lung and airway ultrasound, gastric ultrasound and DVT scan followed by hands on session.
Join us for this workshop which is meticulously designed to enrich your knowledge and refine your skills. Practical tips with latest updates is our focus so that clinical application of the acquired knowledge can be achieved.
